 Model: C-707CHX, DXC-380/390, CDC-3.4


 Subject: Defective lot of CD laser pickups


 Symptom: The CD laser pickups marked with the lot number "X3" (see attached
 picture for details) have been reported by the manufacturer to be defective.


 Solution: Replace the CD mechanism with a new part. The CD mechanism should be
 replaced regardless of the customer complaint. Acceptable lot numbers are as follows:
 "93", "Y3", "Z3". Verify the lot number of the new pickup before installing the
 replacement CD Mechanism.
