Disk Operating System. It describes the file
formats, labeli.ng procedures, and access methods
available with the system. There is also a
general section describing the design of the
direct-access storage devices supported.

This edition, Form C24-3427-3, is a major revision
of, and obsoletes Form C24-3427-1 and Form
C24-3427-2.  It also obsoletes the following
Technical Newsletters: N24-5122, N24-5169,
N24-5197, N24-5276, and N24-5291.  Changes are
designated in three ways:

1.   A vertical line appears to the left of
     affected text where only part of the page has
     been changed.

2.   A dot (.) appears to the left of the page
     number where the complete page should be
     reviewed.

3.   A dot (.) appears to the left of the title of
     each figure that has been changed.

Specifications contained herein are subject to change from time to time.
Any such change will be reported in subsequent revisions or TeChnical
Newsletters.
