MODEL/CHASSIS: VR676
SYMPTOM: Strong distorted sound during playback of HIFI tapes.
CURE: This can occur when the set is connected to the mains power under the
following condition: set is in Low Power stand-by mode and there is no cassette
in the set. Solution: Reset the set with a cassette present in the drive. Be
sure that you return the set to your customer in normal stand-by mode and
certainly not in Low power stand-by. This will help prevent the same fault
happening when the customer connects the set to the mains power. This phenomena
has been solved in a new version of the deck controller. The reset procedure of
the audio IC 7850 has been corrected with deck software version: QTDP2-5U
(codenr. 4822 209 15529 - IC7400)

MODEL/CHASSIS: VR676
SYMPTOM: Sometimes switching to stereo on mono tapes
CURE: Modify motherboard as described below. Use only these prescribed
components !! * Remove screening plate from solder side of head-amplifier part.
- Check R3082 on motherboard; if not 470E, replace by 470E (4822 051 20471). -
Replace C2089 (220 pF) on motherboard by 150 pF (5322 122 33538). - Solder on
top of C2089 an 1k resistor (4822 051 10102). * Solder screening plate on solder
side of the head-amplifier part.

MODEL/CHASSIS: VR6760
SYMPTOM: Timer record fails to start
CURE: The above listed VCRs have been in service for between 4 and 5 years and
maintenance work may be required on the tape deck. It is possible that wear of
the brakes/friction pads and the allied surfaces of the turntables can cause the
tape to stop at the wrong position relative to the tape leader after a fast
rewind. If this happens the VCR may fail to enter tape transport at first button
press. In the case of a time shift recording this will cause failure to start.
In severe cases it may not be possible to enter a function after rewind to tape
begin. Remedy: Replace all of the following parts, brake/friction pads, and
turntables as listed below. Position No. 209 Counterforce brake 4822 403 52488
