SUBJECT: Intermittent No Cool Condition in Refrigerator Section, Error Code 22E
Background: Refrigerator Section Evaporator Fan Motor erratic operation.
The evaporator motor wiring could become pinched by the fan motor case or the wiring to the motor could be
loose, causing intermittent flow of current to the motor. (See pictures).
Loose Connection Correct Connection
Solution: Remove the screw and open the fan motor case. Make sure that the wiring is connected
properly. Using a knife, enlarge the opening in the motor case so that the plastic will not pinch the
wires. Make sure that the foam tape is still in place at the opening to prevent migration of air into the
casing.
Caution: Replacing the fan motor may result in the same condition. Always check for loose or
pinched wires before replacing the motor.
