Model: KP-53HS10, KP-53XBR300, KP-61HS10 No. 442R3
                KP-61XBR300

Subject: Picture Blinks Or Jitters Intermittently. Date: October 25, 2001
"VIDEO 5" And "DTV FORMAT: 480p" OR "DTV
         FORMAT: 1080i" Is Displayed. Symptoms
         Occur When Progressive-scan DVDs Or
Certain Brand DTV Receivers Are Connected
To The Video 5 Input Using Component Video

Symptom:
(1355) Intermittent loss of sync, and picture distortion, with component video and 1080i
format. Picture may blink or jitter when playing progressive-scan DVDs. Both these
symptoms may be observed when using the Video-5 input.

Cause: Bi-Level sync signal and large DC bounce during white to black scene causes sync
                       separator circuit to become unstable.

Solution: If the customer should complain of the above symptom please implement the
following circuit changes on the "A" Board.

Note: This change was not implemented in production on any of the models above.
Starting in July 2000 new boards will have these changes.

This revision supercedes the previous bulletin. The previous service bulletin required
the change of resistors R600 and R698; this is no longer required.
