Subject: Dark Picture/Incorrect Color When Displaying                           Date: February 1, 2000
         A 480p Source Through The VIDEO-5 Input.


Symptom:
 (F321)                The picture becomes very dark, or the color becomes incorrect, when a progressive scan
                       source (480p) is played through the VIDEO-5 input. This symptom will only be shown in the
                       NORMAL, WIDE ZOOM, ZOOM screen display modes. The symptom is not apparent when
                       in the FULL screen display mode. The screen display mode is changed by toggling the
                       WIDE MODE button on the remote, or in the WIDE SCREEN mode menu.




Solution:              Replace the BR board. All BR boards being supplied for service have
                       countermeasures to correct the problem.

                       Sets with serial numbers 9000530 and higher already have the countermeasures
                       applied at the factory.
