Removal and Installation                                                                           EFS002KP


1.   To remove parking brake pedal, remove lower instrument panel
     on driver side. Refer to IP-10, "INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEM-
     BLY" .
2.   Disconnect parking brake switch electrical connector.
3.   Remove nuts, slacken off and remove adjusting nut.
4.   Remove pedal assembly from vehicle and remove front cable
     from pedal assembly.

Inspection                                                                                         EFS002KQ


1.   Check parking brake pedal assembly for wear or other damage. Replace if necessary.
2.   Check cables for discontinuity or deterioration. Replace if necessary.
3.   Check warning lamp and switch. Replace if necessary.
4.   Check parts at each connection portion and, if found deformed or damaged, replace.

Pay attention to the following point after adjustment.
1. Ensure there is no drag when pedal is released.
2. Loosen parking brake cable.                                                                                B
3. Depress parking brake pedal fully more than five times.
4. Operate control pedal 10 times or more with a full stroke [169
   mm (6.6 in)].                                                                                              C
5. Adjust cable by turning adjusting nut.
6. Depress pedal with specified amount of force. Check pedal
   stroke and ensure smooth operation.                                                                        D
