AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

12.Differential Side Retainer Oil                                  7) Using the ST, install the differential side retainer
                                                                   oil seal tapping ST lightly with a hammer.
   Seal                                                            ST 18675AA000 DIFFERENTIAL SIDE OIL
A: INSPECTION                                                                            SEAL INSTALLER
Make sure the gear oil dose not leak from differen-
tial side retainer oil seal part.                                                                           ST
If oil leaks, replace the oil seal.
B: REPLACEMENT
1) Lift-up the vehicle.
2) Remove the front exhaust pipe and center ex-
haust pipe.
Non-turbo model

Turbo model                                                        8) Apply oil to the lip of oil seal.
                                                       to DS-34, INSTALLATION, Front Drive Shaft.>
3) Remove the differential gear oil drain plug, and                ST 28399SA010 OIL SEAL PROTECTOR
then drain the differential gear oil.                              10) Install the front exhaust pipe and center ex-
                                                                   haust pipe.

                                                                   11) Lower the vehicle.
           (C)                                                     12) Fill the gear oil through gauge hole.
                                                    AT-00016       Recommend gear oil:
                                                                     GL-5 (SAE: 75 W -- 90) or equivalent
       (A) Oil pan
                                                                   Gear oil capacity:
       (B) Drain plug (ATF)
                                                                     1.1 -- 1.32 (1.3 -- 1.4 US qt, 1.0 -- 1.1 Imp qt)
       (C) Differential gear oil drain plug
                                                                   13) Check the gear oil level. 
tighten the differential oil drain plug.
Tightening torque:
   44 N
