DTC B1141/33 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly (LH)
Malfunction
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The side airbag sensor assembly (LH) consists of the safing sensor, diagnosis circuit and lateral deceleration
sensor, etc.
It receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, judges whether or not the SRS must be activated,
and detects diagnosis system malfunction.
DTC B1141/33 is recorded when occurrence of a malfunction in the side airbag sensor assembly (LH) is
detected.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Is DTC B1141/33 output?
CHECK:
(a) Turn ignition switch to ON and wait at least for 20 se-
conds.
ON
(b) Clear DTC stored in memory (See step 5 on page
DI-239 ).
(c) Turn ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20 se-
conds.
(d) Turn ignition switch to ON and wait at least for 20 se-

(e) Check DTC (See page DI-239 ).
HINT:
CG Tc Codes other than code B1141/33 may be output at this time, but
they are not relevant to this check.

8 Is DTC B1141/33 output again?

(a) Connect the connector to the side airbag sensor assem-
bly (LH).

Assembly (c) Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and
wait at least for 2 seconds.
CHECK:
(a) Turn ignition switch to ON and wait at least for 20 se-

(b) Clear DTC stored in memory (See step 5 on page

(c) Turn ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20 se-

9 Check airbag sensor assembly.
PREPARATION:
(a) Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery,

10 Check side airbag sensor assembly (LH).
PREPARATION:
(a) Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
Side Airbag Sensor (b) Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery,

and wait at least for 90 seconds.

Assembly (c) Connect the side airbag sensor (LH) to the connector that
the side airbag sensor (RH) was connected to.
(d) Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and
wait at least for 2 seconds.
ON CHECK:
(a) Turn ignition switch to ON and wait at least for 20 se-
conds.
(b) Clear DTC stored in memory (See step 5 on page
DTC B1140/32 DI-239 ).

(c) Turn ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20 se-
conds.
(d) Turn ignition switch to ON and wait at least for 20 se-
