DTC B1142/B1143/34 Door Side Airbag Sensor (RH) Malfunc-
tion (2-Door only)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The door side airbag sensor (RH) circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly and door side airbag sensor
(RH).
For details of the function of each component, see OPERATION on page RS-2 .
DTC B1142/B1143/34 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the door side airbag sensor (RH) circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Prepare for inspection (See step 1 on page DI-390 ).
2 Check wire harness (to B+).
Door Side Airbag Sensor CHECK:
(RH) (a) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Airbag (b) For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side)
Sensor between the door side airbag sensor (RH) and the airbag
Assembly sensor assembly, measure the voltage between body
ground and each of DMR+ and DMR-.

7 Check airbag sensor assembly.
PREPARATION:
Door Side Airbag
Sensor (RH) (a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery,
Airbag
and wait at least for 90 seconds.
Sensor
Assembly (c) Connect the door side airbag sensor (RH) connector and
airbag sensor assembly connector.
(d) Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and
ON wait at least for 2 seconds.
CHECK:
(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 20 se-
conds.
DLC3 (b) Clear the DTC stored in memory (See page DI-239 ).
DTC B1142/B1143/34 (c) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20
seconds.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 20 se-
conds.
CG Tc (e) Check the DTC (See page DI-239 ).

HINT:
Codes other than code 34 may be output at this time, but they
are not relevant to this check.
NG Replace airbag sensor assembly.

From the results of the above inspection, the malfunctioning part can now be considered normal.
To make sure of this, use the simulation method to check.
