Most service manuals and schematics are PDF files, so You will need Adobre Acrobat Reader to view : Acrobat Download Some of the files are DjVu format. Readers and resources available here : DjVu Resources
For the compressed files, most common are zip and rar. Please, extract files with Your favorite compression software ( WinZip, WinRAR ... ) before viewing. If a document has multiple parts, You should download all, before extracting.

Stereo Plus 2 Service Bulletin: 01-01
                                                                                                   May -01

Chassis: Stereo Plus 2 SN- and SW-chassis with PFC circuit (Power Factor Correction)

Module: Main board B****B*
                                    C****B*
PFC version can be identified from a chassis code, the 6th character B means PFC version
In addition the power supply controller in PFC version is a version of TDA16846

Finding: Interference over the whole screen with a poor signal level on VHF1 band

Spares: Item Old part New part Part number Note
1a) CO24 2n2 400V Y 1n0 400V Y 3261 0922
1b) CO75 -- 1n0 400V Y 3261 0922

2b) W53 Jumper 11.25mm Coil AX 4.7uH 620mA 4562 0008
2c) CO76 -- 330p 2k0V 3279 0042

Note: First please try to eliminate the interference by a ferrite antenna cable
If it will not help, make the modification / modifications below

Modification 1
This is the most important modification, which has been implemented in production as a running
change starting from 23.01.2001. If not installed do the following.

1a) Change capacitor CO24 to a value of 1n0 400V Y. See picture 1.

1b) Install new capacitor CO75 (1n0 400V Y) as follows:
              - Drill a new hole according to picture 2 (can be seen also in pictures 3 and 4).
              - The right hole place is exactly in the corner of the printed isolation border marking.
              - Install capacitor as shown in picture 3. Other leg to the new hole and the other one to the
              hole of "not-installed CO74".
              - Blend the leg coming from the new hole so that you can solder it to the ground pad of
the cooling plate. See picture 4.
Note! Capacitors are safety components, so please pay attention to the Electricity Safety.
The isolation gap between primary and secondary must be always at least 6mm.

c) Check the picture quality, if interference has been disappeared, everything is now ok.

                          Picture 3 Picture 4

Modification 2
If still interference visible although the Modification 1 has been implemented, please make another
modification.

2a) Change resistor RO12 to a value of 33R 0805 (locates on the foil side between switching
transistor VO15 gate and power controller NO01 pin 13).
2b) Change jumper W53 to the coil 4.7uH 620mA (W53 locates near by connector XK05).
2c) Add new capacitor CO76 (330p 2k0V).
              - Capacitor will be connected to the holes of "not-installed CO74 and RO107".
              - The other leg comes to the same hole than the CO75 and the other one to the near
              RO107 hole.
              - Now CO76 should be located between TO02 pin 19 (VO30 anode) and ground.
