Subject : DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CASSETTE FEEDING UNIT-R1/S1 AND CASSETTE FEEDING
UNIT-L1/M1
Reason : The Cassette Feeding Unit-R1/S1 scheduled for introduction is based on the Cassette Feeding Unit-
L1/M1, with the differences discussed herein.
Details : 1. Major Differences
To accommodate the increase in the process speed in its host copiers, the pickup PCB, pickup motor,
pickup roller down solenoid, and vertical path roller clutch have been modified to increase
pickup/feeding speed.
Each cassette holder is provided with a pickup sensor (retry sensor).
The pickup sensor is used to detect a delay in the arrival of paper, initiating a pickup retry operation
upon detection of a delay.
In a pickup retry operation, pickup operation is started once again. If a delay is detected for a second
time, pickup is stopped, and a Jam indicator (message) is turned on.
