SUBJECT:               RATTLING NOISE IN (Thailand version) ADFs


Faulty dimensions in the shaft bearing of the Lower Document Guide Cover (HB1-1260) may cause a
rattling noise in (Thailand version) ADFs.
As a production countermeasure, the Lower Document Guide Cover (HB1-1260) mould and the
measurements of the shaft bearing section have been corrected.


SERVICING

BUSHING (HS5-1028) and GEAR WITH ONEWAY CLUTCH , 39T (HS5-0119) should be replaced.
If this countermeasure fails to clear the problem, please replace the Lower Document Guide Cover
(HB1-1260).


REMARK

There are two kinds of BUSHING (HS5-1028) and GEAR WITH ONEWAY CLUTCH, 39T (HS5-0119).
One is made in Thailand and the other is made in Japan. For various reasons, the dimensions of the
latter turned out to be slightly larger than those of the former; only the former kind of BUSHING and
GEAR WITH CLUTCH causes the problem. However, all SERVICE PARTS supplied to you are of
the latter (correct) kind.

Machines with the serial numbers listed below have been equipped with the BUSHING and GEAR
WITH CLUTCH made in Thailand (i.e. the incorrect kind).
