Model: AVR-2310CI, (because there is no RS-232C terminal on the AVR-
890, this update would not apply)
Subject: Supply of Setup Tool
This is information only.
Symptom: We will supply the Setup Tool and the Instruction Manual to be
used for performing various setup for the subject models by means of a PC via
the RS-232C.
Reason: Since the AVR-2310CI is not equipped with the Ethernet terminal, it
cannot be set up externally by means of a PC using the web. Software has been
designed so that the AV Amplifier can easily be set up via the PC's Display by
connecting the AV Amplifier to the PC by means of RS-232C Cable available in
the market.
Solution:
SETUP TOOL TO BE SUPPLIED:
1) Program File to be used to install the "AVR-2310CI/2310/AVC-2310 Setup
Tool" onto a PC:
For Windows Vista: AVR2310_SystemSetup_0.0.16(for_Windows_Vista).exe
For Windows XP: AVR2310_SystemSetup_0.0.16(for_Windows_XP).exe
Note: Please pay attention upon handling since this Tool has been designed on
the assumption that an installer who has special knowledge can operate it. It is
not general user operable tool.
When this Program File is executed on a PC, the above "AVR-
2310CI/2310/AVC-2310 Setup Tool" will be automatically installed on the PC.

3) Update the firmware of unit on the "AVR-2310CI/2310/AVC-2310 Setup Tool".
Refer to the Operating Manual.

Caution! When the firmware version of unit is not the latest version, the unit will
indicate the GUI that an update is available. Please update the firmware as
outlined in service bulletin DZ09-218.
4) The upgrade to the latest Firmware is necessary for the unit of the following
Serial number. (Last 5-digits)
5) Confirmation of the Version after the updated: After completion of the updating
operation, the new version number can be confirmed by starting up the AVR-
2310CI according to the following procedure. With the following operation, the
AVR-2310CI can be set to the Flash-ROM Version-Number Confirmation Mode.
Turn the power of the AVR-2310CI on, while holding both "STATUS" button and
"RETURN" button on the front panel simultaneously.
Every time the "STATUS" Button is pressed, version numbers of the MAIN, SUB,
etc. are indicated on the front panel section in the following order.
