AVR1508/1708 Firmware Update Instruction (Common for AVR488/588/688, AVC1508)

 1   Writer software = "FlashWriter(AVR-1708).exe"

 2   Program File = " AVR1708_m0161d4254.bin"
     (Use the latest version based on SDI.)

 3   Jig setting and connection between jig and main unit.
     Connect TP803 on CPU PWB ASSY in main unit and
     CX707 on JG209-10 with 8P PH-PH CONNECTOR WIRE.
     Set all the slide switch into the position as follows.
       S702 VCSEL : 5V
       S706 VNVSS : L
       S707 EPM : L
       S708 CE : L
       S709 DSPBOOT : L

 4   How to set main unit into firmware update mode.
     Put POWER ON/OFF switch on while pressing
       "SPEAKER A" + "SURROUND BACK" (AVR1508/1708 E2, EUT, E1C
                                    AVC1508-SP
       "SPEAKER A" + "ZONE2" AVR1508/1708/588/688 E3
       "SPEAKER A" + "TONE DEFEAT" AVR488 E3
     buttons on front panel of main unit.
     No LED and FL display should be lit (firmware update mode.)
5   Operation with writer software.
    Procedure of writing software.
    1) Start up Denon writer software on PC.
    2) Window of FlashWriter(AVR-1708).exe
       Cclick "Check communication" with the mouse.




     4) Click "Select" with the mouse.
         Store the firmware file : once per the Writer start.
    5) Select file (*.bin) of the firmware in PC.            (4) Program File: AVR1708_m0161d4254.bin   Avaiable in SDI




    6) Click "Update" with the mouse.




    7) Confirm the following display.




6   How to confirm the firmware version.
    Put POWER ON/OFF switch on while pressing
     "RT" and "PTY" buttons / E2 models
     "DIMMER" and "STATUS" buttons / Except E2 models
    on the front panel of main unit.

    Press "RT" / "DIMMER" to catch the product model name,
    Main (CPU) and DSP firmware version.
