Model: DVD-2900
Subject: Countermeasure for improving a MICON malfunction.
Symptom: 1) There is a portion that is not displayed on the Monitor Screen at
the progressive output when playing back a particular image. (Pixel Cropping
Test)
2) The unit gives an answer as "No-angle" by an error, upon request of "0"
command from the RS232C.
3) The lock-up occurs when the MENU button is pressed upon playing a disc in
which a particular MENU has been recorded. (Avia Test Disc)
4) The sound is interrupted between Tracks when playing back a Live Version
DVD-AUDIO Disc in which no still picture has been recorded.
Solution: The Firmware has been corrected.
Upgrading Procedures of the "Panel MICON"
1) Use a blank CD-R Disc. Record the program file onto the CD-R Disc. Note:
Do not record any other sources on the CD-R Disc, except the above program
file.
2) Turn on the Power of the unit. Set the above CD-R Disc to the Loader.
3) The unit automatically starts the upgrading operation.
4) After completion of the upgrading, the unit automatically ejects the Disc.
Caution: After starting the upgrade operation, do not operate the unit or turn off
the Power until the Disc is automatically ejected. If the Power is turned off before
ejecting the Disc, you will have to replace the Flash ROM.

5) After ejection of the Disc, refer to the Service Manual and confirm the Version
of the MICON. (Version: "6237P")
