                                                                                                            A key variable in describing cell charac-

                                                                                                        energy or chemical energy that a material
                                                                                                        possesses. Cell voltage and other electrical
                                                                                                        characteristics are related to the Gibbs free

                                                                                                        structure of the molecules undergoing reac-
                                                                                                        tion. In the case of a hydrogen fuel cell, the
