The order code for the EscaPe CD is 9965 000 12039, always the
latest version is stocked.
The latest version is 2002-01 (April 2002).

1. The purpose of Eureka is amongst others:
	a. to identify ordering codes from a 'match' string;
menu A.T.M., this function also shows a possible
           recoding.
	b. to identify ordering codes from a 'description' string;
           menu A.T.D.
	c. to identify ordering codes from the model's parts list;
menu A.P.T. (enter part of model / type)
	d. to find where a particular code number is used;
menu A.P.U., result may be re-entered
	e. to find a price indication for a spare part
           (subject to change)
	f. to make a spare parts order to Philips

2. For which operating systems?
The Eureka version 2002-01 is meant for installation under W98,
NT4.0, W2000, WXP and WME operating systems.
Please report any installation problems under the above
mentioned systems to your Philips Service representative.

   * the version 2000-01 was suitable for W98 and NT4.0
   * the version 2000-02 was suitable for NT4.0 but gave
installation problems under some W98 conditions.

3. Server
Eureka is not suitable for installation as a multi user
   application.

4. Eureka will 'copy' the user data of a previously installed
version if installed in the same directory.
After installation Eureka will show the 'File Preferences'
   screen.
Re-starting Eureka can be done by clicking the icon created on
   the desktop.
Please check that the data in the 'file - preference' tab-sheets
   is still correct.

5. When installing Eureka for the first time or in another
directory please fill in all fields shown under the 4 tab-sheets
in the File - Preferences screen (menu FP).
After filling in click 'OK' on each tab-sheet to activate the
   entries. Then close the window.
For further information on data to be filled in please contact
   your Philips Service representative.
A correct filling in is particularly needed in case of preparing
   parts orders via Eureka.

6. In the menu 'Article - Via Parts Lists File - Via
Type nbr/version' (APT) the parts list under option
"Show Partslist" has a column 'Mod' (for MODULE) and a
column 'Sp' (for SPARE) added with respect to the 2000-02 version
   of Eureka and earlier.

In this option (show partslists) these columns have the
   following meaning:

If Mod='yes'+ Sp='S' this indicates that the part number is a
module which is available as a sparepart.
One can choose to order the module or to click on the
highlighted 'Show lower level' button to see the spare parts
   list of this module.

For example; select model CDR775/00, search for pos 1001 or
   code 3104 128 05860, please note that Mod='yes' and Sp='S'
; it means you can order module 3104 128 05860 as a spare part
but you also can click on the 'Show one level' button to see
the contents of this module and select a spare part on
   this module.

If Sp='S' this indicates that this spare part is a normal spare
   part

If Sp='$' this indicates that this spare part has a safety
function in this product and in this position. It should
not be replaced with another spare part but only by the given
order code, otherwise the safety of the product is lost.

If Sp=' ' (blank) this indicates that the spare part is not
particular to this parts list, but e.g. a general article.

   Note:
In the above menu (APT) the option "Show One Level" does show
all items appearing on a parts list even if those articles are
   NOT A SPARE PART !!

   Note:
If an article appears in "red" it can mean that no article
data could be found or that recursing occurred. However the
article data might be obtained by 'clicking' on the aricle.

8. Only in 'Show one level' function:
If Mod='yes'+ Sp=' ' (blank) this indicates that the part
number is not a service part in this parts list.
In the function 'Show parts list' the parts on this module
are already added to the parts list shown.

   Note:
If an article's has an indication Mod='yes' you may try to enter
that article number in the "type number / version list' via menu
   'Article-Via partslist file-via typenumber/version' (APT).

9. The search results may be 'sorted' by clicking on the
   'title bar' above the columns.

10.In the menu Article-via Partslist file-Where used (APU) one may
enter a code to find in which Model or Module it is used.
If the result is a number (code) again please enter that number
in the header to search for the next higher level.

11.Eureka has the option to show the price for a part.
For this option first a price file (locprice.txt) has to be
imported via the menu Maintenance - Import Local Price Data (MP).
To obtain this price file please contact your Philips
   Service representative.

12.From version 2001-02 onwards, Eureka has the added feature to show
the value of a defective "Repair Article".
If an article is marked as Sales Status is RN (normal repair)
the defective article may be returned to Philips.
If the article is received in good condition and accepted
by Philips this is followed by a credit invoice (money back).
The value of that credit is expressed as a percentage of the new
price at the moment of ordering the new article.
In order to be able to return the article it's necessary to
obtain a 'return number' prior to returning the article.
The 'return number' can only be generated at the moment the order
for the new article is entered in Philips' ordering system.
For more information please contact your Philips Service
representative as this procedure does not apply for all countries.
