Important Update About Your Battery

Battery references in the documentation
                The documentation that comes with your Macintosh PowerBook incorrectly
                references the lithium-ion battery pack as a replacement option for the battery
                that comes with your computer. Please disregard the information on page 79
                of your user's guide. Also, the PowerBook 190 Tour that comes on your com-
                puter's hard disk may mention the lithium-ion battery pack. Please disregard
                this reference.


Replacing your battery
                The Macintosh PowerBook Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery for the
                Macintosh PowerBook 5300 series and 190 series (part number M3748LL/A)
                is not available as a replacement battery for your PowerBook. You can only
                replace your battery pack with another nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery
                pack. Please see your Apple-authorized dealer for help in purchasing replace-
                ment battery packs.
