Starter Solenoid Test                                      Starter Field Winding Test
1.   Remove the starter solenoid from the gear housing.    1.    Check for continuity between the brushes. If there's
        SOLENOID                                                 no continuity, replace the armature housing.

                                                           2.    Check for continuity between each brush and the
                                                                 armature housing (ground).
                                                 SCREWS          If continuity exists, replace the armature housing.

                              GEAR HOUSING

2.   Check for continuity between the terminals in each
     solenoid plunger position according to the table.
