Set/Resume/Cancel Switch Test/Replacement
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS            Front Passenger's Side:
component locations, precautions, and procedures in the
SRS (section 24) before performing repairs or service.               Remove the glove box (see section 20).
                                                                     Disconnect the front passenger's 2P connector
1.    Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio,          from the SRS main harness.
     then write down the frequencies for the radio's pre-
     set buttons.

2.   Disconnect the battery negative cable, then discon-
     nect the positive cable, and wait at least 3 minutes.

     NOTE: The PCM memory must be reset after recon-
     necting the battery (see page 11-125).

3.   Disconnect the airbag connectors.

     Driver's Side:

        Remove the access panel from the steering wheel,
        then disconnect the 2P connector between the
        driver's airbag and cable reel.

                                                              5.    Disconnect the combination switch 20P connector

         If there is continuity, and it matches the table,
         the switch is OK.                                                                                     SCREWS
         If there is no continuity in any positions, go to
         step 7.

 7.   Carefully remove the set/resume/cancel switch cover
      by prying between the cover and the switch in the
      sequence shown.

                                                              9. Check for continuity between the terminals in each
                                                                 switch position according to the table.




                                                                    If there is continuity, and it matches the table,
                                                                    replace the cable reel.
                                                                    If there is no continuity in any positions, replace
                                                                    the switch.

                 SET/RESUME/CANCEL
                                                             10. If all the tests prove OK, reconnect the battery cables,
                 SWITCH COVER
                                                                 and enter the anti-theft code for the radio. Then enter
                                                                 the customer's radio station presets.
