Inspection
1. Check the piston for distortion or cracks. 3. Calculate the difference between cylinder bore diame-
ter (see page 7-15) and piston diameter.
2. Measure the piston diameter at a point 14.0 mm
(0.55 in) from the bottom of the skirt. Piston-to-Block Clearance
Standard (New): 0.02 - 0.04 mm
NOTE: There are two standard-size pistons (No let- (0.001 - 0.002 in)
ter or A, and B). The letter is stamped on the top of Service Limit: 0.08 mm (0.003 in)
the piston. Letters are also stamped on the cylinder
block as cylinder bore sizes.
