Outside Air Temperature Sensor
Replacement Test
Disconnect the connector from the outside tempera- Compare the resistance reading between the No. 1 and No.
ture sensor, then remove the bolt and the outside 2 terminals of the outside air temperature sensor with the
air temperature sensor. specifications shown in following graph; resistance should
be within specifications.
NOTE: Dip the sensor in ice water, and measure resis-
tance. Then pour hot water on the sensor, and check for
change in resistance.
CAUTION: The sensor uses a thermistor which can be
damaged if high current is applied during testing.
Therefore, use a circuit tester with an output of 1 mA or
less at the 20 k range.

9.8 N-m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.2 Ibf-ft)

2. Install in the reverse order of removal.
