VSC OFF Indicator Light, Center Diff. Lock Switch Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the center differential is locked, VSC control goes off and the VSC OFF indicator lights up. Also, the
VSC OFF indicator light goes on when the VSC system is at the fail safe control.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 in case of not
using the hand-held tester.
1 Check operation of VSC OFF indicator light.
PREPARATION:
(a) Connect the hand-held tester to DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
(c) Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
CHECK:
Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC OFF indicator light can be shown on the combination meter by the
hand-held tester.
NG Go to step 4.
OK
2 Check center diff. lock switch (See page TR-1 1).
NG Replace center diff. lock switch.
OK
3 Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between terminal EXI
of skid control ECU and center diff. lock switch and body ground (See page
IN-28 ).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.

4 Check VSC OFF indicator light.
NG Repair or replace combination meter.
OK
5 Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between terminal WT
of skid control ECU and VSC OFF indicator light (See page IN-28 ).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK
Check and replace skid control ECU.
