DTC C1207 / 37 PNP Switch Circuit (P/R Range)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
When any of the condition 1. through 3. is detected:
1. At vehicle speed of 15 km/h (9 mph) or less, the condi-
tions that P signal open circuit of park/neutral position
switch is detected and the voltage of IG1 terminal is 9.5
V to 17 V continue for 5 sec. or more.
2. At vehicle speed of 15 km/h (9 mph) or more, the condi-
tion that P signal from park/neutral position switch is ON, S PNP switch
C1207 / 37
and the the shift lever position information from the ECM S PNP switch circuit (P/R range)
is other than in P or N position continues for 60 sec. or
more.
3. At vehicle speed of 15 km/h (9 mph) or less, the condi-
tions that P signal open circuit of park/neutral position
switch is ON and the voltage of IG1 terminal is 9.5 V
to17 V continue for 5 sec. or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Check PNP switch (P/R range).
PREPARATION:
(a) Jack up the vehicle.
3 1 (b) Disconnect the PNP switch connector.
CHECK:
Check continuity between each terminal shown below when the
shift lever is moved to each range.
2 OK:
P range Terminals 3 - 1 Continuity

R range Terminals 3 - 2 Continuity
NG Replace PNP switch.
OK
2 Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between terminals P
and R of skid control ECU and PNP switch (See page IN-28 ).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK
Check and replace skid control ECU.
