PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
If a normal code is displayed during the DTC check but the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each
problem symptom in the order given in the table below and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.
NOTICE:
When replacing skid control ECU, sensor or etc., turn the ignition switch OFF.
Symptom Suspect Area See page
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved normal, replace
the skid control ECU.
1. Check the DTC, reconfirming that the normal code is DI-224
output
ABS does not operate
2. IG power source circuit DI-285
BA does not operate
3. Speed sensor circuit DI-244
4. Check the hydraulic brake booster with a checker or BR-26
hand-held tester.
If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage (See
page DI-374 ).
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved normal, replace
the skid control ECU.
1. Check the DTC, reconfirming that the normal code is DI-224
output
ABS does not operate efficiently
2. Speed sensor circuit DI-244
BA does not operate
3. Stop light switch circuit DI-297
4. Check the hydraulic brake booster with a checker or BR-26
hand-held tester.
If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage (See
page DI-374 ).
1. ABS warning light circuit DI-351
ABS warning light abnormal
2. Skid control ECU IN-28
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved normal, replace
DTC check cannot be done the skid control ECU.
1. ABS warning light circuit DI-351
2. Tc terminal circuit DI-370
1. Ts terminal circuit DI-372
Speed sensor signal check cannot be done
2. Skid control ECU IN-28
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved normal, replace
the skid control ECU.
1. Check the DTC, reconfirming that the normal code is DI-224
TRAC does not operate
output.
2. IG power source circuit DI-285
3. Check the hydraulic circuit for leakage. DI-374
4. Speed sensor circuit DI-244

VSC TRAC warning light abnormal the skid control ECU.

SLIP indicator light abnormal SLIP indicator light circuit DI-363
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved normal, replace
the skid control ECU.

1. VSC OFF or TRAC OFF indicator light circuit DI-357

2. Center diff. lock indicator switch circuit DI-341
