DTC B0133/62 Short in LH and RH P/T Squib Circuits
(to B+)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The LH and RH P/T squib circuits consist of the airbag sensor assembly and LH and RH seat belt pretension-
ers.
It causes the pretensioner to activate when the pretensioner activation conditions are satisfied.
For details of the function of each component, see OPERATION on page RS-2 .
DTC B0133/62 is recorded when B+ is detected in the LH and RH P/T squib circuits.

2 Check P/T squib (LH) circuit.
PREPARATION:
ON PL+ Turn ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side) be-
tween the seat belt pretensioner (LH) and airbag sensor as-
sembly, measure the voltage between PL+ and body ground.
(-) (+) OK:
Voltage: Below 1 V

4 Check airbag sensor assembly.
PREPARATION:
PL- PL+
(a) Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assembly.
(b) Using a service wire, connect PL+ and PL- of the connec-
tor (on the pretensioner side) between the seat belt pre-
tensioner (LH) and airbag sensor assembly.
P/T Squib (LH) (c) Using a service wire, connect PR+ and PR- of the con-
nector (on the pretensioner side) between the seat belt
Airbag pretensioner (RH) and airbag sensor assembly.
Sensor (d) Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and

wait at least for 2 seconds.
CHECK:
P/T Squib (RH)
(a) Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON and wait at least for 20

ACC ON (b) Clear DTC stored in memory.

5 Check P/T squib (LH).
PREPARATION:
P/T Squib (LH) (a) Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery,
Airbag
Sensor and wait at least for 90 seconds.
Assembly (c) Connect the seat belt pretensioner (LH) connector.
(d) Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and
wait at least for 2 seconds.
CHECK:
ACC ON (a) Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON, and wait at least for 20
seconds.
or (b) Clear DTC stored in memory.
(See step 5 on page DI-377 )

6 Check P/T squib (RH).
PREPARATION:
(a) Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery,
Airbag and wait at least for 90 seconds.
P/T Squib (RH) Sensor (c) Connect the seat belt pretensioner (RH) connector.
Assembly
(d) Connect negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and
wait at least for 2 seconds.
CHECK:
ACC ON (a) Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON, and wait at least for 20
seconds.
or (b) Clear DTC stored in memory.
(See step 5 on page DI-377 )

From the results of the above inspection, the malfunctioning part can now be considered normal.
To make sure of this, use the simulation method to check. If the malfunctioning part can not be
detected by the simulation method, replace all SRS components including the wire harness.
