                              SUSPENSION AND AXLE     -   FRONT DRIVE SHAFT
                                                                                                        SA054-02


                                            REASSEMBLY
                                            1.   INSTALL DUST COVER
                                            Using a screwdriver and hammer, install a new dust cover.
                                            2.   INSTALL DUST SEAL
                                            Using a screwdriver and hammer, install a new dust seal.

                                            3.      TEMPORARILY INSTALL NEW BOOTS TO DRIVE
                                                    SHAFT
                           Vinyl Tape
                                            HINT:
                                            S       Before installing the 2 boots, wrap vinyl tape around the
                                                    spline of the shaft to prevent the boots from damaging.
                                            S       Place 2 new clamps to the outboard joint boot and install
                                                    them to the drive shaft.

           Beveled Side                     4.   INSTALL TRIPOD
                                            (a)  Place the beveled side of the tripod axial spline toward the
          Outboard                               outboard joint.
          Joint
                                            (b) Align the matchmarks placed before installation.
                          Matchmarks        (c) Using a brass bar and a hammer, install the tripod onto the
                                                 drive shaft.
                                            NOTICE:
                                            Do not tap the roller.
                                   W03034   (d) Using a snap ring expander, install a new snap ring.
                                            5.   ASSEMBLE BOOT TO OUTBOARD JOINT
                                                 Grease capacity: 176 - 186 g (6.20 - 6.56 oz.)
                                            Before assembling the boot, pack in grease in the boot kit.
                                            6.   ASSEMBLE BOOT AND INBOARD JOINT TULIP
                                            (a) Pack the inboard joint and boot with grease in the boot kit.
                                                 Grease capacity: 255 - 265 g (8.99 - 9.34 oz.)
                                            (b) Align the matchmarks placed before installation.
                                            (c) Install the inboard joint tulip to the drive shaft.
                                            (d) Temporarily install the boot to the inboard joint tulip.


                                            7.      ASSEMBLE NEW INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMPS
                                                    TO BOOT
                                            (a)     Make sure that the 2 boots are in the shaft groove.
                                            (b)     Make sure that the 2 boots are not stretched or contracted
                                                    when the drive shaft is at the standard length.
                                                    Drive shaft standard length:
                                                    530.8
