Introduction
The following procedure is required to correct moon roof creak noise. This condition is caused by dirt or dust between the
moon roof seal and the moon roof opening in the roof causing friction.
Applicable Vehicles
^ 2000 model year Celica GT and Celica GTS vehicles.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles,
whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1. Use alcohol to clean the inside surface of the roof body flange where the Sliding Roof Seal is to be applied.
2. Apply Sliding Roof Seal to the inside surface of the roof panel as follows:

Applying position of the Seal to roof panel top surface - 1.5 mm (See Figure 1).
a. Keep the Sliding Roof Seal lightly stretched when applying it.
Do not, however, stretch the Sliding Roof Seal when applying it to the corner of the roof panel.
b. Cut the Sliding Roof Seal so that the gap will be 10 mm or less and the ends may not overlap (See Figure 2).
c. Press the Sliding Roof Seal to let the air out of it.
3. Clean the outside of the moon roof weatherstrip.
