TRAC OFF Indicator Light, TRAC OFF Switch Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This is the TRAC control main switch. When the TRAC OFF switch is pressed, TRAC control is deactivated
and the TRAC OFF indicator light lights up. By turning off the ignition switch, TRAC control is surely activated
when the ignition switch turns ON next time. Also, the TRAC OFF indicator light truns "ON" when the ECU
prohibit TRAC controls.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the TOYOTA hand-held tester and start from step 2 in case
of not using the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
1 Check operation of the TRAC OFF indicator light.
PREPARATION:
(a) Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and push the TOYOTA hand-held tester main switch ON.
(c) Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
CHECK:
Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the TRAC OFF indicator light can be shown on the combination meter with
the TOYOTA hand-held tester.
OK Check and replace skid control ECU.
NG
2 Check TRAC OFF switch.
PREPARATION:
(a) Remove the TRAC OFF switch.

1 1 (b) Disconnect the TRAC OFF switch connector.
CHECK:
Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the TRAC
OFF switch when the TRAC OFF switch is ON and OFF.
(+) (-) OK:
TRAC OFF switch Resistance

Released 1M or higher
NG Replace TRAC OFF switch.

3 Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between terminal
CSW of skid control ECU and TRAC OFF switch and body ground (See page
IN-31 ).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK
4 Check TRAC OFF indicator light.
See combination meter troubleshooting on page BE-2 .
NG Repair or replace bulb or combination meter.
OK
5 Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between terminal WT
of skid control ECU and TRAC OFF indicator light, IG switch and TRAC OFF indi-
cator light (See page IN-31 ).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK
Check and replace skid controlECU.
