PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
If a normal code is displayed during the DTC check but the problem still occurs, check the circuits for each
problem symptom in the order given in the table below and proceed to the relevant troubleshooting page.
NOTICE:
When replacing skid control ECU, sensor, etc., turn the IG switch OFF.
Symptom Suspect Area See page
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved to be normal,
replace the skid control ECU.
5. Check the DTC, reconfirming that the normal code is DI-259
output.
ABS does not operate 6. IG power source circuit DI-308
7. Speed sensor circuit DI-275
8. Check the ABS & VSC actuator with a TOYOTA hand- BR-43
held tester.
If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage
(See page DI-355 ).
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved to be normal,
replace the skid control ECU.
1. Check the DTC, reconfirming that the normal code is DI-259
output.
ABS does not operate efficiently 2. Speed sensor circuit DI-275
3. Stop light switch circuit DI-314
4. Check the ABS & VSC actuator with a TOYOTA hand- BR-43
held tester.
If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage
(See page DI-355 ).
1. ABS warning light circuit DI-334
ABS warning light abnormal
2. Skid control ECU
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved to be normal,
replace the skid control ECU.
DTC check cannot be done
1. ABS warning light circuit DI-334
2. VSC warning light circuit DI-336
3. Tc terminal circuit DI-351
1. Ts terminal circuit DI-353
Speed sensor signal check cannot be done
2. Skid control ECU
If the symptoms still occur even after the following circuits
in suspect areas are inspected and proved to be normal,
replace the skid control ECU.
1. Check the DTC, reconfirming that the normal code is DI-259
VSC does not operate
output.
2. IG power source circuit DI-308
3. Hydraulic circuit for leakage DI-355
4. Speed sensor circuit DI-275
BA does not operate Stop light switch circuit DI-314
