DTC Always ON Skid Control ECU Malfunction
IG Power Source Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This is the power source for the ECU, hence for the CPU and the actuator.
DTC No. DTC Detecting Condition Trouble Area
Detection of any conditions in 1., 2., 3. and 4.: S Battery
1. Skid control ECU internal malfunction is detected. S Charging system
Always ON 2. IG1 terminal voltage is 7 V or below. S Power source circuit
3. ECU connector is not connected. S ABS warning light circuit
4. There is a malfunction in ABS warning light circuit S Skid control ECU
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Is DTC output?
Check DTC on page DI-220 .
YES Repair circuit indicated by the code output.
NO
2 Check that the ECU connectors are securely connected to the ECU.
NO Connect the connector to the ECU.

3 Check voltage between terminals IG1 and GND of ABS actuator connector.
ON PREPARATION:
Disconnect ABS actuator connector.
15 CHECK:

(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(b) Measure voltage between terminals IG1(15) - GND(8,
23) of ABS actuator harness side connector.
23 OK:
Voltage: 10 - 14 V

NG Check for open and short circuit in harness and
connector between ECU-IG fuse and ABS ac-
tuator (See page IN-31 ).
OK
4 Check battery positive voltage.
OK:
Voltage: 10 - 14 V
NG Check and repair the charging system (See
page CH-2 ).
OK
5 Check the Tc terminal circuit.
NG Repair or replace the Tc terminal circuit.
OK

6 Check operation of the ABS warning light.
CHECK:
ON
13 8 (a) Using service wire, connect terminal WA(13) and
GND1(8) of ABS actuator connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
OK:
ABS warning light goes off
OK Check and replace ABS actuator assembly.

7 Check for open circuit in harness and connector between combination meter and ABS
actuator (See page IN-31 ).
OK Repair or replace combination meter assembly.

Repair or replace harness or connector.
