DTC 42 Air Inlet Damper Control Servomotor Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The air inlet damper control servomotor is controlled by the A/C control assembly and moves the air inlet
damper to the desired position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 Actuator check.
PREPARATION:
(a) Remove glove compartment to see and check the air inlet
damper operation.
(b) Set to the actuator check mode (See page DI-689 ).
(c) Press the DEF switch and change it to step operation.
CHECK:
Press the DEF switch and check the operation air inlet damper.
OK:
DIsplay Code Air Inlet Damper
0-3 "FRESH"
4-9 "RECICULATION"
OK Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on
problem symptoms table (See page DI-697 ).

2 Check air inlet damper control servomotor.
PREPARATION:

Remove the air inlet damper control servomotor (See page
To "RECIRCULATION"
AC-56 ).
CHECK:
Connect positive (+) lead to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to
terminal 4.
5 OK:
(+) (-) The lever moves smoothly to "RECIRCULATION"
position.
CHECK:
To "FRESH" 4
Connect positive (+) lead to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to
terminal 5.
OK:
The lever moves smoothly to "FRESH" position.

NG Replace air inlet damper control servomotor as-
sembly.

3 Check harness and connector between A/C control assembly and air inlet damp-
er control servomotor (See page IN-31 ).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
