PRE-CHECK
1. DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
(a) Check the indicator.
(1) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(2) Check that the PWR DOOR indicator light comes on
when the RH or LH slide door is open, and that the
indicator light goes off when the RH or LH slide door
is closed.
HINT:
S If the indicator light does not light up, troubleshoot the
combination meter (See page BE-2 ).
S Even if RH or LH slide door is closed, when the PWR
DOOR indicator light does not go OFF , initialize the pow-
er slide door control system.

(b) Check the mode 1.
HINT:
In this mode, DTC can be read.
(1) Shift to the P position, turn the ignition switch ON
and power slide door MAIN switch OFF.
(2) Under (1) condition, push the RH or LH power slide
door control switch ON more than 10 times within 10
secs.
(3) After the PWR DOOR indicator light lights up for 3
secs., DTC is indicated by flashing the indicator
light.
HINT:
S When more than 2 codes are indicated, the same code is
indicated repeatedly 3 times and after 3.2 secs., the next
code will be indicated.
S As an example, codes 1 - 3 and 2 - 3 are shown below.
Exampl: 3.2 secs.
1.2 secs.
0.4 secs.
0.4 secs.
0.4 secs.

HINT:
In this mode, the switch operation check can be performed.
(1) Under mode 1, push the power slide door control
switch for more than 4 secs.
(2) PWR DOOR indicator light flushes 2 times for 3
secs., and the mode transferred to mode 2.
(3) Check that the indicator light lights up when operat-
3 secs. ing the power slide door MAIN switch, power slide

door control switch, wireless transmitter, RH or LH
slide door latch switch, and shift lever in P position.
(d) Check the mode 3.
3 secs. HINT:
In this mode, the door lock release actuator operation check
can be performed.
(1) Under mode 2, shift the shift lever to P position and
push the power slide door control switch for more
than 4 secs.
(2) PWR DOOR indicator flushes 3 times for 3 secs.,
3 secs.
I09420 and the mode is transferred to mode 3.
(3) When pushing the control switch ON with the RH or
LH side door closed, release actuator repeats ON
for 0.4 secs. and OFF for 1.2 secs.
(e) Completion of diagnostic mode.
Push the power slide door MAIN switch ON and shift the
shift lever to any position other than P position.
HINT:
S Diagnosis mode can be finished from any mode.
S When finishing the diagnosis mode, ECU memory is
erased. Accordingly initializing is necessary.
2. INITIALIZE POWER SLIDE DOOR CONTROL SYS-
TEM.
(a) Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal for more than
1 min., and connect it.
(b) Close the RH slide door manually.
(c) Push the power slide door MAIN switch ON and wait for
5 secs.
(d) Fully open the slide door by the power slide door control
switch and wait for 3 secs.
(e) Fully close the slide door by the power slide door control
switch and wait for 3 secs.
