INSPECTION
OFF ON
1. A/C Switch:
INSPECT A/C INDICATOR OPERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
6 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4.

(b) Push the button in and check that the A/C indicator lights
up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C switch.

4 (c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
OFF ON 3 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C switch.

2. INSPECT A/C SWITCH CONTINUITY

4. INSPECT FRESH/RECIRC SWITCH INDICATOR OP-
ON

OFF ERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 8.

(b) Push the fresh/recirc switch in and check that the indica-
tor lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

5. INSPECT DIMMING OPERATION
OFF ON (a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 8.
(b) Push the fresh/ recirc switch, then the indicator lights up.
8 (c) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
5 5 and then check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.

7. Air flow selector:
1 INSPECT RECIRCULATE SWITCH INDICATOR OP-
ERATION
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal
1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 8.

(b) Turn the air flow selector to the "DEF", "FOOT/DEF" and
"FOOT" position and check that the recirculate switch in-
dicator lights off.
