DTC P0571/76 BRAKE SWITCH "A" CIRCUIT
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The ECM receives the brake demand signal from the distance control ECU and transmits these to the skid
control ECU (Brake actuator assy).
The skid control ECU (Brake actuator assy) receives a signal from ECM and operate the brake actuator.
The skid control ECU (Brake actuator assy) operates the brake actuator and illuminates the stop lamp by
operating the BRK relay at the same time.
DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
The malfunction code is output when the ECM detected the S BRK relay
P0571/76 BRK relay error signal from the skid control ECU for 0.2 sec. or S BRK relay circuit
more while the dynamic cruise control is in operation. S Skid control ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK BRK RELAY
(a) Remove the BRK relay from the R/B No. 6.
(b) Check the continuity between each terminal BRK relay.
Standard:
Terminal No. Specified condition
1-2 Below 1
3-4 Below 1
3-5 10 k or higher
(c) Apply battery voltage between terminal 1 and 2.

2 CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(BRK RELAY - BATTERY)
(a) Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the BRK relay and battery (See
page 01-37 ).

HINT:
When a malfunction is found in the skid control ECU, replace the brake actuator assy.
