DTC P1616/62 COMMUNICATION ERROR FROM ECM TO
DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The ECM and Distance control ECU always communicate the data for vehicle general control and diagnosis
function each other through communication line.
The ECM transmits the current speed/stored speed and steering angle signal from the skid control ECU to
the distance control ECU.
This sit is detected when the distance control ECU responds to the ECM to instruct that the information sent
from the distance control ECU to ECM is abnormal.

The malfunction code is output when the ECM detects a com- S Communication circuit

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(ECM - DISTANCE CONTROL ECU)
(a) Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the ECM and distance control
ECU (See page 01-37 ).

2 INSPECT ECM
(a) Remove the ECM with connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(c) Check the signal waveform between terminal ELC
(E6-29) of ECM and body ground.

Standard:
The connect signal waveform appears, as shown in
the illustration.
HINT:
S Gauge set: 1 V/DIV, 20 ms/DIV
