DTC U0235/72 COMMUNICATION ERROR FROM DISTANCE
CONTROL ECU TO LASER RADAR SENSOR
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The laser radar sensor and distance control ECU always communicate the data for vehicle general control
and diagnosis function each other via communication line.
The distance control ECU determines the presumed R information based on the signal from the steering
wheel and yaw rate sensor.
The distance control ECU transmits the current vehicle speed and presumed R information to the laser radar
sensor.

DIAGNOSTICS - DYNAMIC LASER CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - LASER
RADAR SENSOR)
(a) Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the distance control ECU and
the laser radar sensor (See page 01-37 ).

2 INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU ASSY
(a) Remove the distance control ECU with connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(c) Measure the voltage between terminal IGB (D2-13) of
distance control ECU and body ground.
Standard:
10 to 14 V

(d) Check the signal waveform between terminal LRRD
(D2-23) of distance control ECU and body ground.
Standard:
The connect signal waveform appears, as shown in
the illustration.
HINT:
S Gauge set: 2 V/DIV, 5 ms/DIV
S Condition: Ignition switch ON
