DTC U0235/71 COMMUNICATION ERROR FROM LASER
RADAR SENSOR TO DISTANCE CONTROL
ECU
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The laser radar sensor and distance control ECU always communicate the data for vehicle general control
and diagnosis function each other through communication line.
The laser radar sensor transmits information about the front vehicle to the distance control ECU.

The malfunction code is output when the ECM detects the

distance control ECU for 0.15 sec. or more while the dynamic

DIAGNOSTICS - DYNAMIC LASER CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - LASER
RADAR SENSOR)
(a) Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the distance control ECU and
the laser radar sensor (See page 01-37 ).
NG REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR

2 INSPECT LASER RADAR SENSOR
(a) Remove the laser radar sensor with connector.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Measure the voltage between terminal IGB (L1-5) and
body ground.
Standard:
10 to 14 V

(d) Check the signal waveform between terminal LRDD
(L1-3) and body ground.
Standard:
The connect signal waveform appears, as shown in
the illustration.
HINT:
S Gauge set: 2 V/DIV, 10 ms/DIV
S Condition: Ignition switch ON
