NO ANSWER-BACK (HAZARD WARNING LAMP AND WIRELESS
DOOR LOCK BUZZER)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
If there is no answer-back of the hazard lamp signal and the wireless door lock buzzer although the wireless
control function is operating normally, there might be a malfunction in the hazard lamp signal and the wireless
door lock buzzer signal which are output from the multiplex network body ECU.
NOTICE:
Troubleshooting should be started after confirming that the answer-back function has been
switched ON through customization.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
When using hand-held tester:
1 CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK FUNCTIONS
(a) Check whether the wireless door lock functions by operating the transmitter switch.
HINT:
When the wireless door LOCK/UNLOCK operation can be performed, it means that the wireless signal from
the transmitter is properly input to the multiplex network body ECU.
NG GO TO FLOW CHART (See page 05-1804 )

2 PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING HAND-HELD TESTER
(a) Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
(c) Select the item "HAZARD" in the ACTIVE TEST and check the turn signal flasher relay ON/OFF.
(d) Select the item "BUZZ RESP SOUND" in the ACTIVE TEST and check the wireless buzzer ON/OFF.
HINT:
S In the case of no wireless buzzer ON/OFF, go to step A.
S In the case of no turn signal flasher assy ON/OFF, go to step B.
S In the case of turn signal flasher assy ON/OFF and wireless buzzer ON/OFF, go to step C.

3 CHECK OUTPUTS OF HAZARD WARNING LAMPS
(a) Check that the hazard warning lamps blink when the hazard warning signal switch is pressed.

4 INSPECT WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER
(a) Check the buzzer resistance.
NOTICE:
S The buzzer circuit is built into the body ECU, not into
the buzzer itself.
S When battery voltage is directly applied to the buzzer,
the buzzer does not sound.
(1) Check the resistance between terminals of the
buzzer.

(a) Disconnect the K1 buzzer connector.
Wire Harness Side
(b) Disconnect the B8 ECU connector.
(c) Check the resistance between the wire harness side con-
nectors.

K1 (d) Check the resistance between the K1 buzzer connector

When not using hand-held tester:
1 CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK FUNCTIONS
(a) Check whether the wireless door lock functions by operating the transmitter switch.
HINT:
When the wireless door LOCK/UNLOCK operation can be performed, it means that the wireless signal from
the transmitter is properly input to the multiplex network body ECU.
HINT:
S If the wireless door lock functions but no answer-back (wireless door lock buzzer) occurs, go to step
A.
S If the wireless door lock functions but no answer-back (hazard warning lamps) occurs, go to step B.
S If the wireless door does not lock function, go to step C.

C GO TO FLOW CHART (See page 05-1804 )

(a) Check that the hazard warning lamps blink when the hazard warning signal switch is pressed.
