INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 INSPECT CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSY(SPD TERMINAL)
(REFERENCE) INSPECTION USING OSCILLOSCOPE
(a) Disconnect the connector from the clearance warning
ECU assy.
(b) Connect the oscilloscope to the terminals SPD and E of
clearance warning ECU assy.

Normal Signal Waveform (c) Drive the vehicle with about 20 km/h (12 mph), and check

Division HINT:
S As the vehicle speed (rpm of the wheels) increases, a
cycle of the waveform narrows.
S When noise is identified in the waveform on the oscillo-
scope, error signals are generated due to the speed sen-

(a) Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the combination meter assy and
clearance warning ECU assy (See page 01-37 ).
