BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The BRAKE warning light comes on when the brake fluid is insufficient, the parking brake is applied or the
EBD is defective.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 if you are using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 if you are not using
the hand-held tester.
1 PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER(BRAKE WARNING LIGHT)
(a) Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select the item "BRAKE WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the BRAKE warning light
on the hand-held tester.
(d) Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the BRAKE warning light is shown on the combination meter by the
hand-held tester.
OK Go to step 4

2 CHECK DTC FOR ABS
(a) Check if the DTCs are detected (See page 05-435 ).

(a) Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between the parking brake switch and skid
control ECU (See page 01-37 ).
