INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK DTC FOR VSC
(a) Check if the other DTCs are detected (See page 05-435 ).
YES REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT

2 INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR SECURELY CONNECTED
NO CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU
YES
3 INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE(IG1 TERMINAL)
IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
(a) Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester.
(d) Check the voltage condition, which is output from the ECU displayed on the hand-held tester.
OK:
"Normal" is displayed.
IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Measure the voltage between terminal IG1 and GND of
the brake actuator harness side connector.
OK:
Voltage: 10 to 14 V
GND IG1 OK Go to step 6

4 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
(a) Check for an open circuit in harness and connector between the body ground and skid control ECU
(See page 01-37 ).

5 INSPECT BATTERY
(a) Check the battery positive voltage.
OK:
Voltage: 10 to 14 V
NG INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM
OK
CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (Battery - Skid control ECU)
6 INSPECT VSC WARNING LIGHT
IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
(a) Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select the item "VSC WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the VSC warning light on the
hand-held tester.
(d) Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC warning light can be shown on the combination meter on the
hand-held tester.
IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
(a) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
(b) Disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
(c) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(d) Check the VSC warning light goes off.
