DTC C2106/11 STOP LAMP SWITCH CONSTANT ON
MALFUNCTION
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the stop lamp switch is ON (brake pedal is depressed), the skid control ECU stops the tire pressure
warning system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CONFIRM VEHICLE MODELS
(a) Confirm the vehicle models.
Result:
w/o VSC A
w/ VSC B
B Go to step 6

2 CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH OPERATION
(a) Check that the stop lamp comes on when the brake pedal is depressed and goes off when the brake
pedal is released.
Standard:
Stop lamp switch function normal.
NG Go to step 4

3 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY - STOP LAMP
SWITCH ASSY)
Wire Harness Side: (a) Disconnect the brake actuator assy connector.
STP (+) (b) Measure the voltage between terminal 16 (STP) and 1
GND1 (-) (GND1) of brake actuator wire harness side connector
when brake pedal is depressed and released.
Standard:
Switch condition Specified condition
Brake pedal depressed 10 to 14 V
Brake pedal released Below 1.5 V
F44439 NOTICE:
As a water proof connector cannot be checked be from the
backside, check by connecting the sub-harness.

4 INSPECT STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY

(a) Disconnect the stop lamp switch assy connector.
(b) Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and 2 of the
stop lamp switch assy when stop lamp switch assy is pin
free and pushed in.
Standard:
Switch condition Tester connection Specified condition
Switch pin free 1-2 Below 1
Free Pushed In
Switch pin pushed in 1-2 10 k or higher

GND1 (-) (c) Measure the voltage between terminal 16 (STP) and 1
(GND1) of brake actuator wire harness side connector
when brake pedal is depressed and released.

7 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY - STOP LAMP

(a) Disconnect the brake actuator assy connector.
Wire Harness Side: STP1 (+)
(b) Measure the voltage between terminal 27 (STP1) and 32
(GND1) of brake actuator wire harness side connector
when brake pedal is depressed and released.
Standard:
Switch condition Specified condition
Brake pedal depressed 10 to 14 V
Brake pedal released Below 1.5 V
GND1 (-) F45562 NOTICE:
As a water proof connector cannot be checked be from the
backside, check by connecting the sub-harness.
