HINT:
If the screen displays UNABLE TO CONNECT TO VEHICLE after you have connected the cable of the
hand-held tester to the DLC3, turned the ignition switch ON and used the hand-held tester, there is a prob-
lem on the vehicle side or tool side.
S If the communication is normal when the tool is connected to another vehicle, inspect the DLC3 of the
       original vehicle.
S If the communication is still impossible when the tool is connected to another vehicle, the problem is
probably in the tool itself, so consult the Service Department listed in the tool's instruction manual.

* "POLE" appears on the display of the hand-held tester, however the name of the part corresponding to
the display of the tester is "pawl".
5. RESET
(a) Reset the power slide door system:
The power slide door ECU records the fully open position and the fully closed position of the power
slide door in its memory and the power slide door fully opens and closes based on this memory. The
power slide door cannot operate without this memory. In the case where the battery has been removed,
manually close the slide door fully to reset the power slide door system. However, if the battery is re-
moved/installed when the slide door is fully open, the power slide door operates normally, thus the re-
      setting the system is unnecessary.
