INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
(a) Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied and goes off when it
is released.
OK: The brake warning light operates as specified above.
OK Go to step 3

2 INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSY
(a) Disconnect the parking brake switch assy.
ON
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the
OFF table below.
Standard:
Tester connection Condition Specified condition
Switch connector -
ON (Shaft is not pressed) Below 1
Switch body
Switch connector -
OFF (Shaft is pressed) 10 k or higher

NAVIGATION ASSY)
Radio and Navigation Assy (a) Disconnect the radio and navigation assy connector R12
Wire Harness View: and parking brake switch connector P6.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the
table below.
R12 Standard:
Tester connection Condition Specified condition
PKB - P6-1 Always Below 1
PKB - Body ground Always 10 k or higher
