DTC B0108/52 SHORT IN P SQUIB CIRCUIT (TO B+)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The P squib circuit consists of the airbag sensor assy center and the front passenger airbag assy.
The circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.
DTC B0108/52 is recorded when a short to B+ is detected in the P squib circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE(P SQUIB CIRCUIT)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Instrument Panel Wire (b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the bat-
P Squib Airbag tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Sensor (c) Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assy

Assy center and the front passenger airbag assy.
D C B Center (d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
and wait for at least 2 seconds.
A23 (e) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(f) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table
below.

2 CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Instrument Panel Wire (b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the bat-
P Squib Airbag tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Sensor (c) Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
Assy (d) Using SST, connect A23-1 (P+) and A23-2 (P-) of con-
D C

A23 nector "C".
P- (e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
P+ and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 60 seconds.
SST (g) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (see page 05-777 ).
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
DLC3 DTC B0108/52 (i) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 60 seconds.
(j) Check the DTCs (see page 05-777 ).
OK:
CG TC DTC B0108/52 is not output.

H10600 H01076 H40581 Codes other than code B0108/52 may be output at this time, but
they are not related to this check.

3 CHECK FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSY(P SQUIB)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the bat-
tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Airbag (c) Disconnect the SST from connector "C".
P Squib
Sensor (d) Connect the connector to the front passenger airbag
Assy assy.
DC Center
(e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
and wait for at least 2 seconds.
DLC3 DTC B0108/52 (f) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 60 seconds.
(g) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (see page 05-777 ).
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
CG TC (i) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at

OK:
DTC B0108/52 is not output.
HINT:
Codes other than code B0108/52 may be output at this time, but
they are not related to this check.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (SEE PAGE 05-770 )
HINT:
S Perform the simulation method by selecting the check mode with the hand-held tester (see page
05-780 ).
S After selecting the check mode, perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the air-
bag system or driving the vehicle on a city or rough road (see page 05-780 ).
