DTC B0116/48 OPEN IN SIDE SQUIB (LH) CIRCUIT
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The side squib LH circuit consists of the airbag sensor assy center and the separate type front seat back
assy (LH).
This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.
DTC B0116/48 is recorded when an open circuit is detected in the side squib LH circuit.

signal in the side squib LH circuit for 2 seconds.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK FLOOR WIRE(SIDE SQUIB LH CIRCUIT)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the bat-
A Airbag tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
D C B Sensor (c) Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assy
Assy center and the separate type front seat back assy (LH).
Center (d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the
S18 table below.
Standard:

2 CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
(a) Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
Side Squib LH Floor Wire (b) Using a service wire, connect S18-1 (SFL+) and S18-2
(SFL-) of connector "C".

NOTICE:
Assy Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminals of the
Center connector when connecting.
S18 (c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
and wait for at least 2 seconds.
SFL+ SFL- (d) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 60 seconds.
(e) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (see page 05-777 ).
Service Wire (f) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at

DTC B0116/48 least 60 seconds.
(h) Check the DTCs (see page 05-777 ).
OK:
CG TC DTC B0116/48 is not output.

3 CHECK SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK ASSY(LH)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Side Squib LH (b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the bat-
Airbag tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
DC Sensor (c) Disconnect the service wire from connector "C".
Assy (d) Connect the connector to the separate type front seat
Center back assy (LH).
(e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
and wait for at least 2 seconds.
DLC3 DTC B0116/48 (f) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
least 60 seconds.
(g) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (see page 05-777 ).
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
CG TC (i) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at

(j) Check the DTCs (see page 05-777 ).
OK:
DTC B0116/48 is not output.
HINT:
Codes other than code B0116/48 may be output at this time, but

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (SEE PAGE 05-770 )
HINT:
S Perform the simulation method by selecting the check mode with the hand-held tester (see page
05-780 ).
S After selecting the check mode, perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the air-
bag system or driving the vehicle on a city or rough road (see page 05-780 ).
