DTC B0135/73 SHORT IN P/T SQUIB (LH) CIRCUIT
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The P/T squib LH circuit consists of the airbag sensor assy center and the front seat outer belt assy LH.
This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.
DTC B0135/73 is recorded when a short circuit is detected in the P/T squib LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 CHECK CONNECTOR
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt assy LH.
(d) Check that the floor wire connector (on the front seat outer belt assy LH side) is not damaged.
OK:
The lock button is not disengaged, or the claw of the lock is not deformed or damaged.
NG REPAIR OR REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK
2 CHECK FLOOR WIRE(P/T SQUIB LH CIRCUIT)
Floor Wire (a) Disconnect the connector from the airbag sensor assy
P/T Squib LH
center.
A Airbag (b) Release the activation prevention mechanism built into
D C B Sensor connector "B" (see page 05-770 ).
Assy (c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the
Center
table below.
P44 Standard:

3 CHECK AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
P/T Squib LH
(a) Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
(b) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
Airbag and wait for at least 2 seconds.
D C Sensor (c) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
Assy least 60 seconds.
Center (d) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (see page 05-777 ).
(e) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
DLC3 DTC B0135/73 least 60 seconds.
(g) Check the DTCs (see page 05-777 ).
OK:
DTC B0135/73 is not output.

4 CHECK FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY LH(P/T SQUIB LH)
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
P/T Squib LH
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the bat-
Airbag tery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
DC Sensor (c) Connect the connector to the front seat outer belt assy
Assy LH.
Center (d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery,
and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
DLC3 DTC B0135/73 least 60 seconds.
(f) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (see page 05-777 ).
(g) Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at
CG TC least 60 seconds.

OK:
DTC B0135/73 is not output.
HINT:
Codes other than code B0135/73 may be output at this time, but
they are not related to this check.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (SEE PAGE 05-770 )
HINT:
S Perform the simulation method by selecting the check mode with the hand-held tester (see page
05-780 ).
S After selecting the check mode, perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the air-
bag system or driving the vehicle on a city or rough road (see page 05-780 ).
