SEAT BELT - REAR NO.2 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH
610DS-02

REPLACEMENT
HINT:
S The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concern-
ing the installation, it is indicated.
S On the LH side, use the same procedures as for the RH side.
1. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See page 76-27 )
2. REMOVE REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH (See page 76-27 )
3. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See page 76-27 )
5. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT RH (See page 76-27 )
6. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING GARNISH REAR (See page 76-27 )
7. REMOVE RR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH ASSY NO.2 RH (See page 76-27 )
8. REMOVE REAR NO.2 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH
(a) Remove the bolt and seat belt on the shoulder anchor side.
(b) Remove the bolt on the retractor side and throughly remove the seat belt.
9. REMOVE REAR NO.2 SEAT BELT ASSY 3 POINT TYPE (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and seat belt.
10. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY INNER
(a) Remove the bolt and belt.
11. REMOVE REAR NO.2 SEAT LAP BELT ASSY CENTER W/INNER LH (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Remove the bolt and lap belt.
12. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY INNER
(a) Install the belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)

13. INSTALL REAR NO.2 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH
NOTICE:
Do not disassemble the retractor.
(a) Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the
Unlock ELR.
45_
(1) Check that the belt does not lock within 15_ of tilt in
all directions but that the belt locks with over 45_ of
tilt, when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
Lock (b) Install the belt with the bolt on the retractor side.
Torque:
8.5 Nm (87 kgfcm, 75 in.lbf) for upper bolt
42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf) for lower bolt
(c) Install the belt with the bolt on the shoulder anchor side.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
(d) Install the belt on the floor anchor side with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
NOTICE:
B70146 Do not make the anchor part run onto the protrusion part
of the floor panel.
(e) Check the ELR lock.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.

SEAT BELT - REAR NO.2 SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER RH

(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt
quickly when the belt is installed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(f) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
(1) Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more
but can be rewound after the belt is fully pulled out.
(2) Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound
after the belt is fully rewound.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
14. INSTALL REAR NO.2 SEAT LAP BELT ASSY CENTER W/INNER LH (8- PASSENGER)
(a) Install the lap belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf)
15. INSTALL REAR NO.2 SEAT BELT ASSY 3 POINT TYPE
(a) Install the seat belt with the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 42 Nm (430 kgfcm, 31 ftlbf) for bolt
(b) Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the
ELR.
(1) Check that the belt does not lock within 15_ of tilt in
all directions but that the belt locks with over 45_ of
tilt, when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assy.
(c) Check the ELR lock.
NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
Unlock
installed.
(1) Check that the belt locks when pulling out the belt
quickly when the belt is installed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
(d) Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.

NOTICE:
The check should be performed with the assembly
installed.
Lock (1) Check that the belt cannot be pulled out any more
but can be rewound after the belt is fully pulled out.
(2) Check that the belt can be pulled out and rewound
B70147 after the belt is fully rewound.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
